New INCAP School Toolkit Gives Schools Resources to Support Students
A new resource is available to help Indiana schools navigate the Indiana Career Apprenticeship Pathway (INCAP) and connect students with apprenticeship opportunities.
The INCAP School Toolkit was created specifically for school counselors, work-based learning coordinators, administrators, and other school staff supporting students as they explore what comes next after high school.
The new site brings practical information and resources together in one place, including:
An overview of INCAP and how the apprenticeship pathway works
Guidance for implementing INCAP within a school
Resources for scheduling and academic alignment
Student recruitment and selection information
Current apprenticeship occupations and student journey examples
Downloadable program, planning, and outreach materials
Access to regional INCAP Connector support
INCAP gives high school students another pathway to prepare for their future by combining relevant classroom learning with paid, on-the-job training. As the program grows across Indiana, school teams play an important role in helping students and families understand these opportunities and determine whether an apprenticeship may be a good fit.
SIEC Is Your Regional INCAP Connector
Southern Indiana Education Center serves as the INCAP Connector for Region G, supporting schools in Gibson, Knox, Perry, Pike, Posey, Spencer, Vanderburgh, and Warrick counties.
Our role is to work alongside schools, students, families, employers, and statewide INCAP partners to help make these opportunities accessible and successful in our region. For school teams, that means you do not have to navigate this work alone. SIEC can help with local apprenticeship opportunities, student recruitment, scheduling, implementation, and questions that come up along the way.
