What It Is

Career advising today must go beyond lists of options. It must be transformational. This certification equips K–12 educators with the tools to guide students in discovering who they are, what they’re interested in, and how to navigate life with purpose. Through a year-long cohort experience, participants will develop expertise in student-centered career development, helping youth explore and articulate their vocational identity—a process they can use throughout their lives. Grounded in the RIASEC framework (Holland Codes), the certification provides a common language for interest-based advising and practical strategies to embed career conversations into the daily fabric of schools.

Why It Matters

Students don’t just need more options. They need better conversations. Career advising must help students recognize patterns, explore purpose, and navigate evolving pathways with confidence.
