Building Strong Coaching Systems Through Leadership, Practice, and Collective Impact
The SIEC Coaches Collaborative is a signature initiative designed to strengthen instructional coaching across our region. Grounded in research and practice, the Collaborative supports coaches and the leaders who guide them in building coherent, high-impact coaching systems that improve instruction and educator growth.

Coaching is one of the most powerful levers for instructional improvement when it is thoughtfully designed, well-supported, and aligned with leadership. The Coaches Collaborative exists to ensure coaching is not an isolated role, but a strategic part of a school or district’s improvement system.

Why the Coaches Collaborative
Research consistently shows that instructional coaching accelerates teacher growth, strengthens instructional practice, and improves student outcomes. At the same time, many districts struggle with:
-
Unclear coaching roles and expectations
-
Inconsistent coaching practices across buildings
-
Limited leadership alignment or support
-
Difficulty measuring coaching impact

The SIEC Coaches Collaborative was created to address these challenges by providing a regional, sustained learning experience focused on both coaching practice and leadership systems.

Our Focus
The Coaches Collaborative is intentionally designed around a few core priorities:
-
Coaching as a System, Not a Program
Supporting districts in building clear coaching structures, cycles, and expectations aligned to school improvement goals. -
Leadership Matters
Emphasizing the role of principals and district leaders in creating conditions where coaching can thrive. -
Evidence-Based Practice
Grounding coaching work in research on effective instruction, feedback, teacher credibility, and collective efficacy. -
Data-Informed Coaching
Strengthening how coaches and leaders use data to guide instructional conversations, collaboration, and decision-making. -
Collective Growth
Building a regional network of coaches who learn from one another and strengthen practice together.
