As the new year begins, schools across Southern Indiana are navigating evolving expectations around instruction, assessment, accountability, and student support. January is a critical moment to reset priorities, align teams, and invest in learning that directly impacts classrooms and systems.
This January, Southern Indiana Education Center is offering a focused lineup of professional learning experiences designed for principals, instructional leaders, counselors, and teachers. Each event is grounded in real school needs and provides practical strategies that can be implemented immediately.
Professional learning opportunities address key areas including special education collaboration and staff wellbeing, mathematics instruction and student engagement, assessment readiness for PSAT, SAT, and ILEARN Checkpoints, and high school redesign aligned to Indiana’s evolving diploma and accountability models. Whether teams are strengthening instructional practice, preparing for upcoming assessments, or rethinking structures to better support students, these sessions offer clarity, tools, and shared language.
We encourage school and district leaders to review the January offerings and share sessions with staff based on their roles and priorities. Starting the year with intentional learning helps build alignment, momentum, and confidence as schools move forward in 2026.
