About the event
One of the more consistent and persistent challenges for school leaders is ensuring everyone is speaking the same language and on the same page. Meeting the needs of students with special needs involves all educators in the school building and can become complicated quickly. Cassie Williams, principal at Cedar Crest Intermediate and former special needs educator, is here to share her expertise and support fellow administrators by leading this half-day session. Participants can expect a time of learning and support, including the following takeaways:

Cassie Williams has dedicated her career to education, with over 15 years of experience in special education and school leadership. She began her teaching career serving students at Princeton Community High School, David Turnham Elementary, and Jasper Middle School before moving into administration. Cassie is currently in her fifth year as Principal of Cedar Crest Intermediate in the Southeast Dubois School Corporation.
A passionate advocate for students and families, Cassie is the founder of Community Chew, a nonprofit organization supporting food-insecure children and families throughout Dubois County. Her leadership and community impact have been recognized with the 2023 Dubois County Chamber Young Professional Award.
Cassie earned her degree in K–12 Special Education from the University of Evansville and her Master’s in School Leadership from Indiana State University. Under her leadership, Cedar Crest Intermediate has achieved statewide recognition, including the Indiana Department of Education’s Excellence in Leading and Learning Award (2023). Cedar Crest was also selected as a Get Your Teach On Collaboration School in 2022, partnering with Hope and Wade King, and became the first GYTO school to launch an Engagement Lab—a model of innovative, student-centered instruction. Cassie’s career reflects her deep commitment to educational excellence, student engagement, and community service.
