SIEC Coaches Collaborative

Why?

The research is clear, coaching is a game changer to educators at all levels. To that end, SIEC seeks to provide our region with a system of continuous professional growth for those who work in this support role and the administrators who guide them.

If you are currently in any coaching role (instructional, tech integration, literacy, etc.) that supports teachers in the improvement of instructional best practice, or if you would love to skill up to someday be an expert instructional coach, we welcome you to join our SIEC Coaches Collaborative.

If you are a building level principal or district administrator who seeks to create or ensure a truly successful coaching environment in your school or district, please join these sessions. Coaching is only as successful as the leadership. You will appreciate the learning outcomes of the initiative.

Outcomes

Participants will:

• Develop a vision and strategically plan for successful coaching in your building

• Develop a coaching program evaluation/coach evaluation

• Understand types of data, the importance of data; how to conduct successful data meetings, how to organize and share data with stakeholders

• Understand the purpose of coaching and the coaching cycle

• Learn, practice, implement and refine coaching practices

• Learn aspects of effective instruction & assessment including UDL, lesson planning, curriculum development and how it impacts effective instruction, teacher credibility, engagement strategies and coaching for engagement

• Learn strategies to foster meaningful collaboration and collective efficacy

  
  

A Special Note for Principals!

A truly effective culture of coaching hinges on the commitment and involvement of the building level principal. Ideally, the principal would attend all of the sessions with their coach. While this may not seem possible, we hope the effort is made. The leadership and data literacy components are especially designed for the principal along with their coach, so please ensure your availability for those sessions.

To support this best practice and to help ensure success, principals may attend for FREE! Please register and indicate your position, so that we can be sure to have an accurate lunch count. We look forward to working with you and supporting you and this work!
