About the event
This session will focus on gaining a deeper understanding of how to utilize the Indiana Science Standards for three-dimensional science teaching and phenomenon-based instruction at the MS and HS levels. This is especially useful for teachers who might be transitioning away from teaching science with a more traditional lecture/lab format. We will explore inquiry learning, standards alignment, and practice modifying existing lessons. Join us at the SIEC for this day of professional learning facilitated by Sarah Henry!

Presenter: Sarah D. Henry
Sarah Henry has been an educator for 26 years. She is currently a full-time Alignment & PLC Specialist and Education Consultant through her company, Sarah D. Henry Consulting, LLC, and Rosebrock Consulting, Inc. Sarah is the co-author of "Arrows: A Systems-Based Approach to School Leadership." She served as the Secondary Science Administrator for Brownsburg Community
School Corporation for eleven years, where she worked with secondary science teachers to improve curriculum, instruction, assessment, and PLC processes. Sarah is also licensed and has taught elementary, middle school science, and high school life sciences. She presents workshops at the local, state, and national levels. She has also taught aspiring educational leaders, as an adjunct professor, in the area of Assessing for Learning for several years at the University of Indianapolis. Currently, Sarah is partnered with several districts across the country to provide training and coaching in district alignment and PLC work.
