About the event
This highly requested workshop was created in response to what our educators, coaches, and school leaders have asked for—a full day dedicated to designing accessible, inclusive, and empowering content using Canva’s creative features and embedded AI tools.
Whether you are supporting multilingual learners, designing for students with diverse needs, building student-centered projects, or leading communication with families and staff, this session is designed to help you do it all with clarity, creativity, and purpose.
This hands-on workshop will guide you through how to:
Design content aligned to Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles
Create flexible, multilingual-friendly materials to support MLLs and increase access
Empower student voice and expression through media-rich, personalized projects
Develop communication tools for staff training, coaching, newsletters, and social media
Use Canva’s AI-assisted tools to streamline lesson planning and content creation
Build polished, consistent designs that reflect your school or district’s identity

Katy Beck is an Education Specialist at SIEC, where she leads regional work in career-connected learning, work-based learning, and professional development for educators and administrators. With a background in instructional design and educational technology, Katy co-leads the development of SIEC’s Career Certification initiatives, helping schools create student-centered systems that prepare students not just for graduation, but for meaningful, impactful futures. She is passionate about empowering teachers and leaders to inspire purpose-driven learning and create classrooms where every student can thrive.
