About the event

Meet the requirements of HEA 1285 which requires schools to ensure at least one employee in each building used for classroom instruction has obtained nonviolent crisis intervention training; and is present in the building during the school year.
Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) Training prepares your staff to prevent and de-escalate medium to high-risk behavior using both restrictive and non-restrictive methods.

Effective verbal and nonverbal de-escalation techniques
Personal safety skills to reduce the risk of harm
Strategies for building a culture of care and respect
Post-crisis recovery and support methods

Lora Wilson, Ed.D., is an accomplished educator and instructional leader with over 25 years of experience in early childhood and K–12 education. She currently serves as an Instructional Specialist and Program Coordinator at East Central Education Service Center, where she supports literacy, leadership, and school improvement initiatives. With expertise in educational neuroscience, literacy, and school leadership, she is dedicated to empowering educators and helping students thrive.
