ReadyTeach Certification
Mentor Information
Welcome and congratulations on leading the next generation of teachers! Each student who is a ReadyTeach candidate must have a mentor teacher to guide them through the program and YOU are that teacher. We appreciate you and are here to support you along the way as well. Here are some important reminders:
-
There are twelve (12) total microcredentials, with the final serving as the culminating assessment (professional portfolio submission), earning the candidate a certified, transferable digital badge. For the eleven preceding microcredentials, competency-based expectations are listed with accompanying resources.
-
There are three prerequisite microcredentials that must be completed by the candidate first. These are marked clearly in the title of the microcredential.
-
The ReadyTeach candidate is solely responsible for submitting each completed assessment checklist along with any accompanying evidence of learning.
-
Student candidates will have full access to the online certification program, whereas the mentor teacher will not. This will encourage regular communication between the mentor and the student mentee.
-
Prior to the SIEC instructor approving the completion of each microcredential, the mentor teacher must follow the progress of each candidate and sign off on each step. This has been made easier by compiling the requirements into one document for both student and mentor teacher to co-complete. These assessment checklists are curated below for convenience.
