The Sun
The Sun is a star made of hydrogen and helium. The
Sun is huge. If the Sun were a hollow ball more than 1 million Earths could fit
inside it. The sun is 900,000 miles (1.4 million km) across. The temperature at the center
is 27 million degrees F. The sun is divided into six layers. The sun's surface that we see
from Earth is called the photosphere. The chromosphere and the corona form an atmosphere
around the sun. |
