Jupiter
| Jupiter
is the 5th planet from the Sun. It is about 484 million miles from the Sun. Jupiter has 16
moons. No one knew that Jupiter had a ring until Voyager I took pictures in 1979.
The ring is very thin and too faint to see from a telescope. Astronomers guess that it is
only 18 miles thick. The ring around Jupiter is made of tiny rocks and bits of dust
circling the planet. Jupiter is the giant planet. It is 11 times larger than Earth.
Jupiter is one of the outer planets and it is made up of gases with a rocky core. by Valerie and Jill |
