South Africa is rich in mineral deposits. It is a world leader in gold and diamond mining. South Africa also produces coal, manganese metal, chrome ore, vanadium and vermiculite. With most of the land being pasture, it is a high producer of sheep, pigs, and cattle. The Cape Region has many successful vineyards that supports a successful wine industry.
