Southern Indiana has twelve known species of
bats. They are
the Eastern Red bat, Rafinesque's Big-eared bat,
the Gray bat,
the Silver-haired bat, the Eastern pipistrelle,
the Hoary, the Evening bat,
the Big brown, the Little brown, the Eastern
Small-footed bat,
the Southeastern bat, and the Indiana bat.

read our report on it.)
Wyandotte Caves are the winter hibernation home
of four
of these bats that is known at the present time.
The bat found the most in Wyandotte Caves is the
Indiana bat.
