 Bats
Graph
We wanted to show
how the numbers of some
of the bats of Wyandotte Caves have changed
over the years. Dr. Clark McCreedy shared the
following spreadsheet with us. It shows data
collected every other year since 1981 on four
bats. They are the Indiana bat, Eastern
Pipistrelle,
Big Brown, and Little Brown.

(Our thanks goes to Dr. Clark McCreedy for sending us this
table.)
We decided to
convert this information into a
bar graph to better illustrate the differences
in numbers. It is clear from this information
that
the Indiana bat numbers have steadily climbed
over the years at Wyandotte Caves while the
numbers
of the other four have not changed very much.
(See our bar graph below. We created it with
Microsoft Works)

EXTRA!
We just recently received the following
graph information from
Lori Pruitt, a bat recovery officer for the U. S. Fish and
Wildlife
Service. It shows the dramatic increase in the numbers of the
Indiana bats after certain events at Wyandotte, such as the
installing of a steel gate and especially after winter tours
were
terminated. We thank Lori Pruitt for this information!

version of it.
