Native Americans

Bill shows us how the Native Americans used darts to hunt with.

Below  and on the previous page are some photographs and information from our visit to Angel Mounds.

Bill shows us how they used an atlatl.
It was a tool for hunting and is pronounced
aht-LAH-tl.

We saw many more artifacts from the Mound Builder era.

This is another tool.
It may have been a wedge or hammer.

We take a close look at the stockade. It was built with mud and rocks.

We are standing in front of part of the stockade.

We see one of the mounds in the distance.

A close up of the rooftop in the Winter House.

A painting inside the museum showing the chieftans
and a mound behind them.

The museum building is shaped like the mounds were.

Wax figures of the Mississippians hunting game.
