Moon Tree at Camp Koch
Cannelton, Indiana

Our Moon Tree has seeds which grow in a ball shape. The seed balls hang down from the branches of the tree. You can even see some of them there in the winter when there are no leaves on the tree.

Our Moon Tree in the winter.
Here is a close up of the Moon Tree in the winter time. You can see if you look very close the seed balls. It is a pretty tree to look at even in the winter!
The third graders in 1997 measured the girth of the tree. They used centimeters. They saw that the girth of the tree was 117 centimeters. This October we again measured the girth of our tree to see how much wider it had grown.
In 1997 our Moon Tree's girth was 117cm

In Oct. 2002 we measured the girth again. It is now 152.5cm!
We knew that our Moon Tree had grown a lot in the past six years, but we were surprised to find out that it was this much larger! This is great news! We will share this news with our friends at NASA!
