Our Moon Tree in the springtime. |
The Moon Tree is one of several hundred trees grown from seeds taken to the moon and back by Astronaut Stuart Roosa on Apollo 14 in Jan.-Feb. 1971. There were Sycamores, Loblolly Pines, Redwoods, Douglas Firs, and Sweetgum. |
| Our Moon Tree has peely bark and wide leaves. We took pictures of the bark and leaves to show how it looks. We saw other sycamore trees at the camp, and our tree looked the same. We think from our observations that it is growing the same way as other sycamore trees. |

Our Moon Tree has moss growing on it. |
 |
The leaves on our Moon Tree are showing signs of something attacking the leaves. We think it may be some kind of caterpillar or worm. We will keep watching it to see if it gets worse. The other sycamore trees in the area we saw also had the same problem on their leaves. |
