If you want your pet to stay
healthy and happy for
its whole life then you will want to make sure that
your pet's needs are met. These are both physical
and mental, so your pet is happy and healthy.
Food and Water:
Your pet needs to be fed proper pet
food and given
fresh water every day. Check with the veterinarian to
find out exactly how much food and the brand or kind.
Fresh water needs to be available at all times.
Certain foods cannot be fed to pets such as
chocolates. People food can make animals very sick!
Shelter:
It is important that your pet has a
safe, clean place
for
shelter. If your pet is outside, the shelter needs
to be in your yard, and in shade during summer
and kept warm and dry in the winter.
It also needs to be safely out of reach of wild
animals like coyotes. It is really a good idea to
keep animals indoors at night so that they do not
come in contact with wild animals, cars, or bad weather.
Spaying or Neutering
It is very important to get your pet spayed or neutered.
This is a surgery that keeps animals from reproducing.
Spay is the term for the female surgery and Neuter
is the term used for the male surgery.
The importance of doing this is so that there are not any
unwanted animals. Sadly, the number one reason there are pets in
animal shelters is because they are unwanted
animals. Spaying and neutering will help stop or at least
help lower the number of unwanted animals.
Spaying and neutering is beneficial to pets in other ways.
It helps keep animals from roaming as much and it also
can keep animals from becoming aggressive.
